In Djugu territory, upon his return to his chiefdom, Chief Yves Kahwa Panga announces his candidacy for the national deputation

Chief Yves Kawha Panga returned to his Bahema Banywagi chiefdom on Tuesday June 13, 2023.

In front of a crowd at the Tchomia unity stadium, he justified his prolonged absence from his entity by retirement. In his speech, he announced his candidacy for the national deputation, in the Djugu electoral district, to continue his fight for the return of peace and integral development in the Democratic Republic of Congo in general and the Ituri province in particular.

Mr. Kahwa also promised to soon install another chief to lead the Bahema Banywagi chiefdom for around 7 years. This would be Zephanie Bahati, according to the choice made by the ruling family on the afternoon of Wednesday June 14th.

Yves Kahwa entered his chieftaincy via Uganda after joining Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo’s “Mouvement de Libération du Congo” (MLC) political party in Kinshasa.
