Kenyan President William Ruto is sending top security officials to Kinshasa to discuss the future of the East African Community force deployed in eastern DR Congo, in which Kenya plays a major role
Over 9000 military personnel were sent to DRC dispatched to join the seven-nation East African Community regional force for a mission that he called necessary and urgent .
The force was tasked with restoring security in eastern DRC and pushing back rebel groups, including the M23 rebels, who Congo says are supported by Rwanda.
Rwanda’s government denies it is supporting the group and has accused Congo of backing another rebel group hostile to Rwanda.
Now it is reported that the time and agreement for their mission comes to an end this month, the delegation is set to meet and discuss their withdrawal, as reports indicates
