Codeco militiamen once again massacred seven people and set fire to four houses in a raid signed on Saturday night, Sunday June 11, 2023, in the village of Adrasi, an entity located at least 29 km away in the umoyo groupement in the Djukoth chiefdom, in the Mahagi territory, Ituri province.
According to sources on the spot,the attacks by these militiamen at around 9pm local time first targeted a military position in the area before unloading on the peaceful population.The victims were all women and children.
Since this attack, a general psychosis has gripped the population and a displacement of the population has been observed towards surrounding regions.
This attack by militiamen from the Djugu territory comes despite several attempts at negotiation, which had led to the signing of commitments to cease hostilities.
