Museveni asks borrowers of MDP money to have enough time to repay

President Yoweri Museveni has ordered that those borrowing money from the Parish Development Model should not be harassed into repaying so quickly, but should be given more time.

Addressing the NRM parliamentary caucus currently on retreat at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi district, the president said he had received several concerns and complaints from residents during recent presidential tours .

Mr. Museveni reminded legislators that the money invested in Emyooga and the Parish Development Model (PDM) is a stick of dynamite against parasites in Uganda.

He also expressed concern that some businessmen would get this money from SACCOs and use it to travel to China to import without benefiting members.

The chairman guided Emyooga beneficiaries by saying that they should be allowed to invest and produce sufficiently before they start repaying the money.

He urged members to always guide residents on these programs in the simplest way possible; stressing the importance of leaders communicating well with ordinary people.
