Sunday, April 9, 2023 is one of the most important days in the Christian life, marked by the celebration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, a sign of victory over death incarnate in sin and a new triumphant life for God’s children.
Thus, Pastor Isingoma Mutoro, of the local Life Line Church in Congo based in Nvodu in the Wagongo chiefdom in DRC, preached during his homily on the occasion of this Easter day, the way of no return to sin by a decision of every Christian converted in Jesus Christ.
He also said that the resurrection of Christ grants a new life to every Christian who must consider every moment as an opportunity for conversion and not only wait for the day of the Easter feast in order to live on the path of the light.
In this sense, several Catholic Bishops also let the faithful throughout the world know that the fight against anti-values and the restoration of peace at the beginning of the world remain at the heart of the prayer on the occasion of the celebration of this Easter day.
Pope Francis, in his capacity as Pontiff, also called for an end to the violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday 9 April. He made this declaration in St Peter’s Square in the Vatican during his Easter message to the city and the world (Urbi et Orbi).
In the face of conflict, violence and difficulties, the Pontiff reminded us that hope is not an illusion but truth.
