Newly government-appointed Mouvement de Libération du Congo (MLC) and the Union pour la Nation Congolaise (UNC) leaders are among the many political figures who signed the Charter of the Sacred Union, pledging to support the incumbent president in the next presidential election.
It was drama over again in DRCs assembly last week, after one by one, ministers, parliamentarians, political actors, and members of civil society took to the podium at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa to sign the Charter of the Sacred Union.
The text affirms they will put their weight behind a single candidacy for the presidential election in December: that of incumbent President Félix Tshisekedi.
