NGO Mercy Corps dishes out money in dollars to displaced people

Some 3,107 displaced households are receiving humanitarian aid from the NGO Mercy Corps. The cash assistance activities are run by the Ang’hal group Ukazu Akonjkani. These victims receive an amount of US$80 to $200 converted into Congolese francs depending on the size of each household. A gesture by the NGO Mercy Corps which is so far the first in this part of mahagi territory

Justin Ucoun, chairman of the Ukazu Displaced People’s Group, welcomes this despite the difficulty of exchange that affects the quality of the money received by the displaced persons.

The NGO Mercy Corps is involved in various areas of humanitarian aid in mahagi territory.
