An environmentalist Okethwengu Loise senior Forest guard in charge of Panyamur area has called for the planting of more trees in the Panyamur and Pakwach at Large to balance the ecosystem.
Okethwengu a climate change enthusiast made the call on Sunday during a funeral service for Atim Joice at Nyamutagana in Dei Sub County.
Atim died on Friday from a short illness and was laid to rest at their ancestral home in Nyamutagana on Sunday.
The environmentalist said it was pertinent to plant more trees to avert imbalance in the country’s ecosphere and to address various environmental pollutions.
He explained that, when we do not swallow the culture of tree planting we shall reduce the number of oxygen producers and in turn increase the number of carbon dioxide producers through gas emissions.
He further noted that, There is so much work left for the next generation as a result of our indiscriminate air pollution, plastic pollution, single-use plastic and nylon bags littered everywhere among others.
